Allan Katama was born and raised in the remote village of Kenya in East Africa. His passion for technology helped him secure a scholarship at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he earned a BS in computer science, networking emphasis. Prior to that, he went to a tertiary institution in Kenya and graduated with a diploma in telecommunications engineering.
Allan has over 15 years of experience in the areas of computer networking, network security, Voice and Video over IP/ Unified Communications implementations while working at Northwestern Mutual. Technologies implemented include Microsoft Skype for Business/UC, Polycom videoconferencing, proactive monitoring solutions for Voice and Video over IP traffic, Acme Packet Session Border Controllers, Oracle Communications Operations Monitor for end-to-end real-time SIP traffic monitoring and troubleshooting, among others.
Due to his passion for emerging technologies, Allan completed his MBA with a concentration in Business Intelligence and Analytics Management in 2019.
